2 hours of live music with Evan Hathaway & Lukas Johnson. Free for all ages.
Evan picked up the guitar at age 14 and has been singing as long as he can remember. Despite growing up around suburban SoundCloud rappers in Beaverton, Oregon, he fell in love with the simplicity and sincerity of country western music. Evan strives to write and cover songs that are timeless classics. Whether he is strumming an acoustic guitar or sitting in with a band, his tender vocals and soulful guitar playing will put a smile on your face. Lukas’ earliest memories include listening to Buck Owens and Don Rich on vinyl, as well as his great-grandpa playing “Faded Love” on fiddle. While studying at WSU, Lukas booked and played more than 200 shows with the Pullman-based bluegrass band, Train of Thought, before moving west and eventually landing in his hometown of Washougal. Lukas enjoys reading the audience and playing upon their energy, being spontaneous and bending & blending genres. Lukas and Evan’s duo includes a range of influences; you can expect to hear a mix of classic bluegrass, Americana, classic country and honky-tonk tunes, as well as a number of original tunes. The duo plays a mix of high-energy, toe-tappin’ music, punctuated by heartfelt storytelling songs that are saturated with vocal harmony.
